Santo was a perfect opportunity for xtina to get a hit but she didn't even perform it once! I bet Ozuna realised quickly that she didn't have any willingness to promote and he moved on. His new song is already on the top 10 of every major reggaeton playlist and has over 27M

He hasn't performed his new single yet, neither Becky G and Karol G and have landed amazing numbers. I honestly don't think a live performance is that important these days to get a hit.

It's more about playlisting AND tiktok (unfortunately). She / they could have easily tried to create a Santo challenge (also PMM had lots of "tiktokeable" moments) yet nothing was done (well Gilbert tried). Ozuna was immediately all over tiktok and IG reposting challenges with his new song

Overall I see a falling trend on the various playlists. Ozuna's new song is in the top 10 of major playlists including Mansion Reggaeton and #1 on Baila reggaeton. Those two haven't bothered to include Santo.

I don't know how entirely true this is... I was reading Spotify FAQ (specifically about playlisting) and they claim that paid promotion is not and never has been a thing... playlisting is based on artists submitting work to be considered for playlists... and also the algorithmic playlists are decided based on demand of the song... They claim that a songs fate in those playlists depends on a number of things including the amount of plays within the playlist, the genre and style of the playlist etc... it's an interesting read...

I am not sure, I don't know where to look. My gym plays raggeton music including some Ozuna songs but not Santo. I also haven't heard it in the bars/clubs.

I've seen a couple of tweets like this one this weekend and also last weekend. I think we're getting there

I still can't believe the song wasn't added in the first week of its release, it would have been placed higher as a new entry.

There's still some hope.
La Fama, Rosalia's single, was like #15 when it was added and a few weeks later it topped the playlist. But it got incredible numbers and that's the reason why they put it at #1.
