I just remembered a post on here where someone was once again criticising Xtina about something (lack of promotion, still being with Matt, talking about her kids too much lol. I don't remember but it was negativity over a non-issue).

Someone else said they missed the Bionic days when everyone was coming for Xtina and the Fighter community was super united in protecting her as nowadays Christina's worst haters are her fans. Glad to see everyone reunited under a common purpose again

However. Christina should have known better. I mean, the bitch is in the industry for 20 plus years, she KNOWS how these things turn out, she KNOWS how this shit works. The whole thing is a big misunderstanding. In the clip Britney posted, you can see a woman in a mask walking back towards them. She had already indicated that they had to go inside (I heard Christina was doing the countdown to the start but I don't know if that's true). The publicist then loudly says they have to go inside (right before the Britney question is asked) and touches Christina's arm to get her attention (you can see it in clips with different camera angles on Twitter). That's when she looks back and it unfortunately coincides with the reporter asking about Britney. Meanwhile, the masked woman starts heading inside, turns around and realises Christina and her team aren't following, and hurries back to get them cos they're on a tight schedule. When Christina said "I can't...", she literally didn't have time to say anything other than "I'm happy for her"

Adam Lambert just re-posted Xtina's post supporting Britney. He's such a loyal fan! He must have been truly gutted not to be able to tour with Xtina as planned

This puts everything into context. The woman had already told them to get the hell inside before the Britney question ever came up

Wow practically all the comments under Variety's tweet are either criticising Britney, defending Xtina or dragging Variety for stirring shit up by reporting on an obvious misunderstanding. They say in the article that they've reached out to Christina's publicist. All he has to do is confirm that Christina was running super late and the video itself backs him up. I'm also glad that, like me, lots of people thought Xtina glancing back at get publicist was in response to him saying they had to go inside not some hidden code to "save her from the question"

This whole thing is just sad. I don't even particularly blame Britney; I blame ETNews. The way I interpreted the clip, the publicist said they were going just as the reporter asked about Britney. Christina turned to double-check if she was indeed running late. The publicist cut off the line of questioning and spirited her away, with Christina just able to throw out an "I'm happy for her" before she HAD TO GO. It's not like she was at a film premiere. She was participating in a live televised event (and someone even said she was doing the countdown to the start of the ceremony. If that's true, then ETNews are even more trashy by making it seem like Christina couldn't be bothered to say a single nice thing about Britney)

I don't think Christina should directly address this. RocNation should release a statement clarifying the situation. She literally had seconds left on the red carpet when they asked her about the conservatorship and Christina doesn't really make trivial statements about important issues like this. The thoughtfulness of her Instagram post back in June/July will attest to this. If she's going to say something, it will be heartfelt and genuine, not a sound bite
