Same, I thought she was going to do something really unique.SanelyInsane wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 1:46 am Well, I’ll just say I don’t feel bad anymore for not being able to go.
Beautiful gowns though.

Overall, a very nice show! She looked absolutely beautiful, almost channeling Marilyn Monroe. I loved the new arrangements on Genie and WAGW. I’m very disappointed that the rest of the setlist and arrangements were recycled from the Liberation Tour and the Xperience. However, I felt the stage design was mesmerizing with Christina atop the mountain with the different light displays and the dancers flowed beautifully with each song.

She owned that stage
And that final outfit for Beautiful was insane.
Hard to say atm but I think GIAB will be my absolute fave on the HQ rewatch
The set list was very much a Christina Aguilera concert. An interested person not a stan I shared the link with said they "forgot how many songs she had that they knew".
If it gets her back in the public eye I'm happy.
We all wish she brought a more surprising and esoteric mix... but for her hits I say wait til we hear the HQ versions before we go "yeah yeah yeah heard it all before"

The setlist was def a let down.Martin wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 1:47 am I agree the setlist definitely could've been better, but we gotta remember, when booking this show I don't think it was done with exclusively Xtina fans in mind. Similarly to Vegas this was more of a general public type of show, so I can see why she chose the usual hits with some Liberation sprinkled in. At least they were arranged differently so it was still a fresh experience.
This was the perfect opportunity to showcase a side of her artistry the world hasn’t seen yet and she disappointed with this setlist. A nice show but def could’ve gone a lot better considering she had the LA Phila Orchestra behind her. Oh well. She did look amazing though.

She still performed a few of her newer fan faves like Maria and TwiceBad_vocal_technique wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 2:06 am I am hoping this is a closure to the past hits and now really focuses on the new music. The show was epic though. The general public doesn’t know she’s had the same set list for years like us.

Personally, I don’t mind that she’s doing her hits for a more casual audience, but why not do more rearrangements like she did for Genie or WAGW? The reason the streamers could sing-a-long to every adlib from each song is because they’re identical to her past performances.
There are a few songs I feel she could retire, like It’s a Man’s World. Leave that iconic performance in 2008. I would have loved a Billie Holiday or Nina Simone cover or even a reprisal of “I Love the Lord” from her Xperience show. PMADT got a nice little remix earlier this year at that Verizon event, but that was absent at today’s show. I agree with others suggesting Reflection, too.
