(...) since then, the conservatorship has periodically become a topic of headlines, with fans calling for Spears to have control over her own fortune.
Still, the online outrage brought questions about Spears’ net worth to the forefront, with fans spreading rumors that she was worth upwards of $250 million. Court filings reviewed by Forbes revealed that Spears’ fortune—which sparked the #FreeBritney movement in the first place—was around $60 million at the end of 2019. The overwhelming majority of that, about $56.5 million, sits in investment accounts, business investments and real estate, while the rest is in cash. Her fortune comes from her lucrative career as a musician: Spears has sold nearly 150 million records worldwide, according to Billboard. With that hit music came touring—she’s done 10 major tours, in addition to a Las Vegas residency—as well as licensing deals, including for 19 popular fragrances.
So how did one of the world’s most famous singers who, according to Forbes, has earned more than $30 million a year in eight of the last 20 years, not make this year’s list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women? For one, a majority of Spears’ earnings gets paid to others: Forbes estimates that about 25% of her gross income goes to her agents, managers and lawyers, as is standard for any star. CC: @Christina After that, 40% or more goes to Uncle Sam (and state and local governments) in tax payments. Then there are her expenses: She pays about half a million dollars in child support each year to her ex-husband Kevin Federline, one source told Forbes, plus millions since 2008 in legal support and fees related to the conservatorship.

Holy fuck I’m legit worried over her.

Also lots of her fans are real life rich bitches and have indeed very provocative style.
Christina has just done a better job overall of making lucrative business decisions and doesn’t really spend her money outside of decorating her house. Any pop star would be worth $160 million if they just sat at home for a decade. She has always only owned 1 house at a time, she brought in lucrative incomes from The Voice, perfumes and then the residency. She also has a publishing company for her music, so she gets royalty fees for music she wrote (something Britney doesn’t have). I can easily see how she surpassed Britney in wealth.

No touring? Very little public appearances? Not enough of a writer to have song royalties?Lady Mamacita wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 2:51 pmYup! But wtf how can she be worth so little? no wonder her father controls all of her expenses and forced her to work while she still was a hot commodity lol like now it all makes sense.
Formerly Known as Ozzy.

Why are we surprised that Broccoley doesn't keep the majority of her income? She's not responsible for the majority of her productions. She doesn't write, she doesn't play any instruments, and she barely sings. She ought to be lucky for the fraction she is allowed to enjoy. There's lots of manufacturing costs involved in propping her up.

If you put it like that, and after reading that 25% goes to her people and 40% to the state, it all makes sense now. Jesus! No wonder Shakira isn’t paying taxes these Hollywood bitches ain’t as rich as they look!BaeTine wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 4:40 pm Why are we surprised that Broccoley doesn't keep the majority of her income? wow did not expect that but then again it shouldn't surprise us considering how everyone was getting a piece of her,,,, her father, her lawyers, her ex-husband, her manager(s) and the list goes on
a woman who was (and still is) sick and mentally unstable being forced to work as a robot (against her will?) so that the men in her environment can enjoy a luxurious life.... milking the cash cow for as long as they can (legally) until she becomes independent, gets really sick or is too old to perform.

well if she's earning millions of dollars per year, she has to be taxed more than the average person (40% is not a lot if you ask me) #feelthebern
the only solution is to retire for good [well i doubt they will let her do that, she's a cash cow) and just live a quiet life with not much... then let's see if her boyfriends stays with her

Actually, Christina lives a rather modest life compared to her peers.Agugaga wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 2:59 pm Christina has just done a better job overall of making lucrative business decisions and doesn’t really spend her money outside of decorating her house. Sure, everything she owns is top brand. But she doesn't own that many things.

Yea, she built herself a castle and she stays in it. I don’t see her going on lavish vacations or spending money on other properties. She buys expensive things, but that’s it really.DevotionHURTS wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 6:39 pmActually, Christina lives a rather modest life compared to her peers.Agugaga wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 2:59 pm Christina has just done a better job overall of making lucrative business decisions and doesn’t really spend her money outside of decorating her house. true! i wonder why she doesn't go on vacations as often as other stars/celebrities... especially since she hasn't toured abroad since 2007 (excluding the private gigs for oligarchs/billionaires, the sweet but short X tour and the awkward Burlesque promo)) while her peers managed to see the world (literally) while on tour many times the past decade.Agugaga wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 6:57 pmYea, she built herself a castle and she stays in it. Not shocking that she’s now worth so little compared to her being near $200 million at one time. It’s just funny that she has all those record sales that her fans love to brag about yet she is worth less than half of what Christina is worth now. Record sales don’t mean that much when you barely write songs and don’t own publishing. Christina was a smarter business woman and made sure Irving Azoff got her shit in order and she did this at the height of her career. Say what you want about Irving, he will make sure his artists are making money with less work.
Christina is much better at managing her money, so she stays richer. Christina is one of the few celebs that wears her outfits more than once. She also put Matt to work as the VP of Talent for Master Class.

Can you post the receipts of Christina's wealth?NewAgenda wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 8:23 pm Not shocking that she’s now worth so little compared to her being near $200 million at one time. She rarely changes people in her team.NewAgenda wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 8:23 pm Not shocking that she’s now worth so little compared to her being near $200 million at one time.
