Don’t quote me but I believe it’s because she included songs produced soley with live instruments like a piano ballad (Somos Nada) and rancheras (La Reina/Cuando Me De La Gana). Hence “traditional pop”.

Btw…this is also the only category I see her winning. *fingers cross*

i also thought the album would be nominated for best pop vocal album and not traditional but it is what it is and i hope it wins this category lol. I don't think she can win the award in the Album of the Year category.

La Luz itself might not be eligible as it is part of AGUILERA but the songs from the EP should be eligible as they will be released before the deadline.

I’m so happy for all the nominations and the exposure she is getting because of this. I want her to win all the awards but I will be happy even if she doesn’t. Regardless of the outcome this is great news and we all should be proud of her.

I'm also wondering about this. In my ideal world (not reality) I wish they would add more songs to La Luz, call it Aguilera Reloaded or Part 2 so that we can get another full album and more opportunities for nominations next year. But like I said, it's only a dream .

While I doubt the album will make it (since it's EP), I really hope the songs will grab some noms next year. Isn't June the deadline?

La Luz CAN be nominated next year as long as:

Albums, including EPs, must have at least five (5) different tracks and a total playing time of at least 15 minutes.
