Trolling is very much a catch all. I can tell you directly that, much like porn, you’ll know it when you see it. A negative comment about Christina may lead to a report, but most likely no action on my part, depending on the user. Not playing favorites, but there are users who criticize her in a constructive manner, or who do it to point something out, and those might get reported alongside the user who comments negatively about her by bringing up others (Gabe, for example). It’s up to me then to decide if that’s really someone being a troll, trying to get a rise out of people, or just a comment, not meant as anything else than an opinion, which is not a bannable offense. Intent matters. Or as much as I can divine from a users post history.

The clear cut rule is if you’re here spreading hate, you’re out. Unfortunately, we seldom (if ever!) get posts like “xtine is shit”. There’s more nuance and skirting of the topic, where they’ll be open ended about it, and say “well, my fave is doing great. How about yours” with the caveat that, tho you’re here, Christina may not be “your fave”. Having done this for a few years now, I like to think I can tell the difference between those trying to play off a joke versus those who are not obviously interested in X and just here to piss others off.

But again: I can tell you when I see it.

I think being on a forum dedicated to only Xtina shows him the ugly side of the fandom that is dedicated to tearing down other female artists and he feels the need to be devil's advocate to provide a level playing field. Only difference is that this is a forum for Xtina, so it doesn't make sense to say anything negative about her to try and defend another artist...

What matters is his post here which are straight out shady and negative, antagonizing the fanbase is also trolling.

Sorry but, no one is as dedicated to bringing a female artist down as Gabe or ANOM... They constantly attack other singers, including Christina. And they clearly enjoy it.

I personally think that Gabe is going through a very dark period. I hope he finds peace.

He comments at one point that Christina should join the Real Housewives franchise. I think that sums up his posting style. Some of the posts are tacky or negative, but he also does show some stanning here and there (mentioning Accelerate as a banger, for instance, based off the two pages I looked through).

I would say give him another chance, and hopefully this event demonstrates clearly: This is a Christina Aguilera Fan Forum. Trolling, insulting, or making snide remarks about her, is not allowed.

If this forum shows him the ugly side of fandom with barely any posters then I’d hate for him to go to Lipstick Alley with thousands of active posters where fanbases drag everyone from Justin Timberlake to Beyoncé daily. No one is safe. You can’t come to a forum dedicated to Christina Aguilera seeking vigilante justice for other artists while throwing subliminal shade at her or the fanbase. Then he claims he doesn’t want any drama.

It shows he doesn’t have respect for Christina and he seems to be a fair weather fan most of the time anyway. If he wants to be this vigilante then I suggest he only go to forums like Lipstick Alley which is first and foremost a general forum with sub-forums for other artists. I doubt Breathe Heavy tolerates posters subliminally shading Britney or her fanbase in order to uplift other artists. His posts are more divisive than unifying and you can see most of the reactions to his posts are negative for a reason. I don’t think he’s capable of providing a different perspective intelligently without being disrespectful to Christina or the fanbase. Let’s help him spread his good word of keeping balance of fandom and reality elsewhere by giving him read-access only here.

He is not here for Christina. Period.
