hello, you lovely people.

a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, there was a music and entertainment site owned by Ticketmaster, and besides sharing news and updates, it also contained forums for different pop artists and genres. one of those was the Christina Aguilera board. it has been almost 30 years since liveDaily was created, 14 years since it closed and afterLD was launched, and 8 years since that itself closed. yours truly has been around for most of that, discovering liveDaily before Stripped came out, and ultimately opening this site's predecessor, xtina.red, in 2016, before that too shut down and aguilera.red was born. that is a long history, and the amazing bit is that people from those early beginnings still remain today, a testament to both the artist and the community that has been created through this medium.

I've lost track of which begathon number this is, but it doesn't change the fact that we are around, now, and may continue to be around, later, thanks to you and your contributions. I got us started, as it were, both in time and money, but the money factor has been all yours since after the first year, and we're still around, so, truly, thanks for that.

our goal for our current begathon is $768. I typically would include handy screenshots of the bill and all that goodness, but as I mentioned a few weeks ago, I'm changing us to a less expensive server configuration and that is a whole manual process that apparently takes a few days. it should result in no downtime, but when they do process it, the bill is due, so I'd just as rather have it available for when it comes through, assuming we're sticking around. so below is the email confirmation of the process, and the amount as given to me by their rep:





as last time, we will be using PayPal for donations, and you don't need to have a PayPal account to use it, just a valid credit card. it is the easiest and best way to make this happen, and I hope there's no issues this time around either.

Random things, since I didn't want to post it in the thread opener: we were down for a few hours (not down, but inaccessible) as I did everything in the background, so this is all that I did...

- updated the board (from 3.3.10 to 3.3.14; I hadn't updated shit in a bit)
- updated the board's extensions (literally 24/34, so that took a good long while)
- upon updating, realized that all the little animated image ranks below the user's names in their posts had suddenly stopped being animated, becoming just static, and since I didn't have the original files available, I just went by and resized previous x icons I had and loaded those up instead. if someone wants to make a whole set with more particular images, hit me up, I just didn't have more time available.
- updated the color scheme & the header
- set up the donation drive

everything should be working as intended, but do tell a bitch if something isn't.

I was only able to afford Jorge, namely because I was able to scam him using my own name. Jordan said it was 100 per inch and that got expensive fast, tbh.

I'l donate if you stop using so much red for everything, it can be damaging ... red is the lowest vibrational color, use lighter colors

I check in here daily, but I don’t typically post, just check for notifications and swing by the forums for a quick looksie. The benefit of a well-oiled machine is that I’m really only needed in an emergency, like the forum being down or something like that. Very Richard Letoya of me, honestly.
