Weibo is one of their major platforms. Liuen Liuen 人人 (my pronunciation and spelling are awful) is one of their major social media sites. Baidu is their Google. And Tencent is their Apple.

The issue with the Chinese firewall is related to the unwritten rules of the party. Unlike other countries, China isn't exactly a democracy. There is one party, with some factions.

So government will decide how to interpret rules, depending on what is most convenient to the party.

For example, the CEO of Alibaba got married to the daughter of the current chairman, and is suspected to help them with tech, so he easily became a billionaire and is protected by the government. Those who are not that "lucky" can be censored/killed in no time.

With regards to foreign websites, they are restricted or blocked as they may depict the party in an unfavorable light. Chinese people can access them through VPN services, but if they're caught they can get into trouble.

Thanks, sis, this is helpful. It seems like Mulan tells a China-positive story (based on my very rough memory of the original), and Disney has a good relationship with the party because they recently opened a park there, so maybe that means big potential exposure. I hope so!

How we feeling about these numbers? Good or bad?

For weeks LBT daily average has been 50k streams (2,5k for EMG). I expected more from yesterday, ngl, but it is what it is. Also, the song is still buried under 50+ songs on the "Disney Hits" playlist, so that means people actively streamed the song more, and that is a good thing.

We need a huge spike in interest when the movie comes out, because these numbers (YouTube, Spotify, iTunes) are not exactly thrilling.

Honestly, fighters are more influential than we think, we should really casually infiltrate all social media platforms without xtina on our accounts and naturally convert fans, especially the kpop fans Cause I’m also seeing tons of fighters arguing with other stans and getting hella personal (we should refrain from that, it looks bad, sounds bad and people end up hating Xtina more cause of it)
